Having suffered from rising damp for a few years, we were recommended Cavivac by a local tradesman. I got in touch for a quote and this was quickly organised for a convenient time. Following this quick visit we received the quote and soon set a date for the removal of our insulation. On the day, the lads arrived bang on time and after giving us the detail of what they would be doing, they set to work. Our property forms part of a public footpath and appropriate safety signs were put in place.  By the end of the day they were all finished. All the holes they drilled had been filled and the area was left very tidy. I saw photographs of the cleared cavity and the buckets of insulation and debris were all taken away on completion. If anyone suffers from damp and believe it due to cavity insulation, I fully recommend CAVIVAC.

Right from my first phone contact with Cavivac I felt that I was speaking to someone who understood and sympathized with my worries concerning severe damp ingress due to previously installed inappropriate cavity insulation. After a visit from a surveyor to assess the extent of the problem and possible solutions, I received a written statement of the costs of various alternatives. We were then able to arrange a mutually convenient date for the work to be undertaken. Cavivac arranged everything, including the erection of the required scaffolding and a site visit by an OSCAR representative to conduct a site competency assessment report while work was being undertaken. The two engineers who conducted the extraction work were excellent. In spite of the inclement weather, they were able to complete the work in 3 days, and kept me fully informed of what they were doing and how they were progressing. On the final day they completed a thorough second pass with their compressed-air injector and extractor to remove any insulation that had settled overnight, and conducted a thorough cavity inspection to ensure that no insulation remained on wall ties or at the bottom of the cavity. Finally, all bricks were carefully replaced and all holes were cemented. On the day after completion, I received a written statement of the work having been completed, together with date-stamped images of the empty cavities. It is difficult to describe the peace of mind my wife and I now feel. Based on my experience, I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Cavivac to undertake cavity insulation removal.

Cavivac helped us out when we were a bit desperate having been let down by another extraction company who did not come when they said they were going to. Cavivac assisted us in finding a company to replace the insulation promptly following their removal of the old, defective insulation. Cavivac were very nice to deal with responding to telephone calls and emails promptly, kept us informed and kept to their timescale (they even came the day before to prepare things so that they would be certain to finish the extraction before the new insulation was due to be installed) and we have no hesitation in recommending them. We are a lot warmer now we have had the old insulation removed and replaced with new.

Following issues with penetrating damp in our house we were advised to contact Cavivac to remove our faulty cavity wall insulation. From my initial contact they were extremely responsive and professional. A member of the team came to view our house and undertook a thorough assessment of the property including viewing the wall cavity with an internal camera. We were advised to have all the insulation removed throughout the property. We were given a date for this to be carried out approximately 6 weeks from the initial consultation. On the date as planned the team turned up on time and we're extremely polite, professional and kept me informed throughout the job. This company was recommended to me by a surveyor who specialises in these types of problems. CAVIVAC carried out a site inspection and established what work was needed and gave an estimated cost to carry out the refurbishment. They arrived on site as promised and removed the soaked insulation material, made good the drill holes in the pebble dash and even coloured the cement to match the age of the building. Any mess outside was cleaned and washed down as if they hadn’t even carried out the work.

Excellent, diligent and hard working are words that could sum up my experience with CAVIVAC and worth every penny.

Cavivac came to survey our Cavity wall Insulation as we have had ongoing problems with damp walls and condensation in our 1960s built bungalow for years. Their operative came out and initially drilled two or three small holes and showed us the state of our insulation using a Borescope camera, even managed to pull some out to show how damp it really was. We were happy with the quotation provided so we booked them to remove the old cavity wall insulation and their team did a great job, showing images of the cleared cavities as they went. They left no mess and made good the holes that had to be drilled for removal. We would highly recommend Cavivac.

Our bungalow was wet, cold with black mould on the walls and ceilings. Within a week of contacting Cavivac, they investigated our cavity walls with a small camera and found old insulation that needed extraction. Fully explained, quoted and accepted. Prompt arrival on day, all queries answered with knowledge and cheerfulness. Extraction took 3 days in total including making good any bridging or blockages, and re-sealing drill holes and replacing air bricks. Contending with driving rain at times, they came back just to ensure wall plugs were good. Work area completely cleared of all waste each day and explained to us where walls had been worst affected. We asked for advice about exterior walls and very obligingly gave us information as to how to improve it further. We have no hesitation in recommending Cavivac as they gave us a great level of service, very polite and efficient, at a competitive rate, which we paid after all work was completed and satisfied.

As promised the OSCAR Certificate of Clearance was emailed the day after the work was completed and all my queries were dealt with sympathetically, in what for us was a very stressful time trying to resolve the damp problem caused by the cavity wall insulation.
